I love the movie. Very epic. Lots of fighting and stuff like arrow shooting and so on. There were lots of battles going on and the final one was very Grand. However, I never really understood the story. This movie is a Prequel to how Robin became a Legend. But I still love it.
Story: Following the death of Richard the Lionheart in battle. Robin and 3 other friends attempt to go back home as they spent 10 years fighting in battles and wars. However, they were ambush by Sir Godfrey played by Mark Strong. When he found out that the King was dead, he chased Robin and his companions. Robin and his companions managed to chase Sir Godfrey and his army of troops away. They then stole some troops armour and took the King's crown to return back to England. Robin also made a promise with a dying man.
Upon arriving to English, the King's death was informed and thus, his brother, John became the new King. However, King John was very arrogant and showed no remorse to his poor kingdom. He also made Godfrey the person in charge of the armies.
Robin and his companions head to Nottingham, supposedly his homeland I guess, where he gave a sword to the King whose son died in battle and Robin made a promise with the dying son. The King then made Robin to act as his son for several days. There, Robin met the son's widow whom became Robin's love interest later.
Meanwhile, Godfrey was conquering countries and killing many people. Thus, those fallen army came to King John and demanded that he had no right to conquer their lands. King John realised that he had been wrong in replacing Godfrey and thus agreed to reunite everyone. A battle followed shortly where Godfrey men invaded Nottingham but were being chased off by Robin and others.
Soon after, there was a great battle. An invasion on England's south coast by the French. The English were winning. And that was the part when Robin slays Godfrey with a well placed arrow from a long distance. DAMN COOL AND ACCURATE!
In the final scenes, King John declared Robin to be an outlaw. Thus, Robin moves to Sherwood Forest to form what will become the MERRY MEN OF SHERWOOD FOREST. Thus, winning the accolade of Robin Hood, becoming a legendary figure in English folklore.
'And so the Legend begins'
